Install on Windows
Visit the official website: https://plantodo.app/en/ and click Windows to choose from two installation options: a ZIP package or the Microsoft Store version.
Both versions provide the same application. We recommend installing from the Microsoft Store whenever possible. If you are unable to install it due to network issues or other reasons, you can download the ZIP package, extract it, and run the application directly.
Microsoft Store Installation
Click the link on the official website, or search for PlanTodo in the Microsoft Store, then install the app.
Updates are managed through the Microsoft Store.
To uninstall the app, use Windows' built-in Apps & Features settings. If you want to remove all application data, see the Uninstall section below.
ZIP Package
Because this version is not digitally signed, Windows may show a warning that the app could be harmful when launching it for the first time. This is expected behavior for unsigned applications. If you have any concerns, we recommend installing the Microsoft Store version instead.
PlanTodo does not contain any malicious code. Please download it only from the official website.
The reminder feature may not work properly in the ZIP version.
Installation
Extract the zip archive, navigate to the extracted folder, and find plantodo.exe. Double-click it to run.
This folder can be placed anywhere and will continue to work. You can also move it at any time.
Updating
Download the new version of the zip archive, extract it, and copy all files into the original folder, choosing to overwrite all existing files.
Uninstalling
If you want to keep your data, simply delete the folder containing plantodo.exe — this folder holds all the program files.
If you do not want to keep your data, also delete the following two items:
- In File Explorer's search bar, enter
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\app.plantodo\and press Enter. This takes you to a folder — delete thePlanTodofolder inside it, which stores the Settings page configuration. - In File Explorer's search bar, enter
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\and press Enter. Delete these three files:plantodo.db,plantodo.db-shm,plantodo.db-wal. This is the database that stores tasks, plans, and other data.
Coexistence
Both installation methods can be installed at the same time. Since they share the same data files, you can switch between them as long as both versions are the same.
However, do not run both versions simultaneously, as this may cause database corruption.
